6th Circ. Won't Revive Ex-MEGlobal Worker's Bias Suit

Law360, New York (November 30, 2017, 5:29 PM EST) -- The Sixth Circuit affirmed an order Thursday ending a worker’s gender discrimination suit against chemical manufacturers MEGlobal International and Dow Chemical Co., saying Michigan federal courts don’t have jurisdiction over the former and the latter is not the worker’s employer.

The unanimous panel rejected former MEG International worker Rose Anwar’s argument that her Dubai-based ex-employer is the alter ego of U.S.-based MEGlobal Americas, saying she fell several factors short of proving the companies are one and the same. The panel added that Dow did not jointly...
