NLRB Decision Against Publishing Co. Affirmed

Law360, New York (April 29, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An appellate court has affirmed a National Labor Relations Board decision that the Tribune Publishing Co. violated the law by unilaterally discontinuing the use of the company's direct deposit system for union dues collection.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit said Tuesday that the NLRB's decision should be enforced.

The decision to change the union dues process affected press room employees represented by the Graphic Communications International Union at the daily newspaper in Columbia, Mo., according to the decision....
