Patent Holder Faces Uphill Google Fight At Fed Circ.

Law360, Washington (December 4, 2017, 6:22 PM EST) -- A patent licensing company appeared to struggle Monday to convince a Federal Circuit panel to uphold its media search patents in Google’s challenge to a Patent Trial and Appeal Board decision against the technology giant.

Network-1 Technologies Inc. is defending a PTAB decision to uphold the patents, which apply to extraction of specific features from audio and video files and other electronic works. The PTAB had found that the patents were not obvious or anticipated by prior technology.
