Law360 (May 1, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Backlash against the recently enacted Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act ("Act"), which went into effect on Feb. 10, 2009, can already be seen in scathing editorials from individuals across interest groups.

Though the intent of the Act, which is to protect the most vulnerable members of the American public from potentially harmful materials, is certainly a worthwhile goal, in practice, the Act's sweeping language may do more harm than good.
