Sun Microsystems Sued Over Patents, Trade Secrets

Law360, New York (September 12, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A software company that merged with Trilogy Software Inc. earlier this year has filed a lawsuit against Sun Microsystems Inc., claiming the company stole its patent when it developed product configuration software of its own and employed former Trilogy employees to help with the software.

In the lawsuit, filed last week in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Versata Software Inc. and Versata Development Group Inc. alleged patent infringement, breach of content and trade secret misappropriation. They are seeking a permanent injunction...
