Columbia Gas Pitches Deal In Suit Over Pipeline

Law360 (May 5, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Columbia Gas Transmission LLC has asked a federal judge to certify a class of about 111 plaintiffs and give a green light to a settlement deal in a case over alleged contamination from an abandoned natural gas pipeline.

Named plaintiff Emogene Helmick and Columbia Gas Transmission filed a joint motion Monday seeking conditional class certification for settlement purposes and preliminary approval of the settlement agreement in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
