San Antonio Off Hook For $20M Benzene Suit: Court

Law360, New York (May 5, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The city of San Antonio is not liable in a case claiming that benzene migrated through the soil from a landfill to a nearby home, exposing a pregnant woman to the carcinogen and consequently causing her daughter's acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the Texas Supreme Court has ruled.
