SEC Gets Asset Freeze Extended In AriseBank ICO Suit

Law360 (March 12, 2018, 6:31 PM EDT) -- A Texas federal judge on Friday extended an asset freeze and other emergency measures put in place earlier this year for AriseBank and its top executives after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission accused them of running an illegal and fraudulent initial coin offering.

The Dallas-based AriseBank, which once claimed to have raised $600 million with its AriseCoin offering, was sued in Texas federal court in January along with Jared Rice Sr. and Stanley Ford, the bank's CEO and chief operating officer, respectively. The SEC alleges...
