DC Circ. Won't Free Manafort From Jail Before Trial

Law360 (July 12, 2018, 10:55 PM EDT) -- The D.C. Circuit on Thursday rejected Paul Manafort’s request to be released on bail in advance of his upcoming trials over alleged financial crimes and foreign lobbying charges.

President Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman had argued to the appellate court that a D.C. federal judge erred in ordering his pretrial incarceration and asked the D.C. Circuit to release him from jail while he appeals that June 15 decision.

The court on Thursday issued a two-sentence reply.
