Deals Rumor Mill: Miami Marlins, Legend Holdings, Adnoc

By Benjamin Horney (July 11, 2017, 5:05 PM EDT) -- Derek Jeter as owner of the Miami Marlins baseball team is back in play, with a New York Post report Tuesday saying the New York Yankees legend has partnered with a group of roughly 15 investors that includes NBA icon Michael Jordan to make a $1.2 billion bid. According to the report, the group featuring Jeter and Jordan is closing in on an agreement with the Marlins' current ownership, though nothing is official yet. The Marlins will likely decide on a buyer next week, the report noted. Jeter previously teamed with Jeb Bush to try to buy the team, though reports in May said the 2016 U.S. presidential candidate had pulled out of discussions. Previous reports had said that another group, led by Solamere Capital co-founder Tagg Romney, is also in talks to buy the Marlins....
