San Francisco Mulling Multibillion-Dollar Bid For PG&E Assets

Law360 (May 14, 2019, 6:49 PM EDT) -- San Francisco could make a multibillion-dollar offer to buy beleaguered utility Pacific Gas and Electric Co.'s assets and make the city energy independent, according to a report by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission.

In the report, released Monday and delivered to San Francisco Mayor London Breed, the commission outlines three options for going forward in light of PG&E's bankruptcy proceedings, which the utility entered into in January to deal with numerous lawsuits stemming from the wildfires that ravaged the state in the last several years.
