Kaiser Aluminum Steers Out Of Bankruptcy

Law360 (July 6, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After being parked in Chapter 11 for more than four years, aerospace and automotive aluminum producer Kaiser Aluminum Corp. pulled out of bankruptcy protection Thursday following a settlement over its asbestos liability claims.

Jack Hockema, chief executive officer of the company, said Kaiser is geared up to take advantage of a strong market for aircraft aluminum and is setting its sights on an expanding market for lighter automobile parts.
