A West Virginia judge on Thursday tossed all claims in two product liability cases against the makers and distributors of the heart drug Digitek over deaths allegedly caused by defective pills, effectively ending the multidistrict litigation stemming from a 2008 recall.

A West Virginia federal judge on Friday rejected plaintiffs' bid to block the use of certain expert testimony in a multidistrict litigation against Actavis Inc. and Mylan Inc. over a heart drug recall, finding defense attorneys had not violated any professional conduct rule.
