Insurer Will Appeal $6.9M Contract Trial Award To 8th Circ.
Fidelity National Title Insurance on Monday said it's appealing to the Eighth Circuit a Missouri federal jury's $6.9 million verdict in July that concluded the insurer breached its policy by failing to diligently defend a real estate investor against mechanic's liens and caused a valuable deal to fall through.

Insurer Can't Nix $6.9M Contract Trial Award, Judge Says
A Missouri federal judge on Tuesday upheld a $6.9 million award against Fidelity National Title Insurance Co. following a jury trial, saying jurors reasonably concluded that the insurer breached its policy by failing to diligently defend a real estate investor against mechanics liens and causing a valuable deal to fall through.
