Insurer Will Appeal $6.9M Contract Trial Award To 8th Circ.
Law360, New York (April 4, 2016, 10:38 PM EDT) -- Fidelity National Title Insurance on Monday said it’s appealing to the Eighth Circuit a Missouri federal jury’s $6.9 million verdict in July that concluded the insurer breached its policy by failing to diligently defend a real estate investor against mechanic's liens and caused a valuable deal to fall through.
The announced appeal by Fidelity National Title Insurance Co., the successor-by-merger to Lawyers Title Insurance Corp., comes just weeks after U.S. District Judge Carol E.
