Benefits Plan Must Get Payout From Disbarred Atty's Trust
A Pennsylvania federal judge rejected a settlement that would have required Athene Annuity and Life Insurance Co. to pay a benefits plan $355,000 after a policy lapsed due to attorney misconduct, telling the company Monday that the now-disbarred attorney's old trust, not Athene, must distribute the payment.
