Purdue's Anti-Abuse OxyContin Patent Claims Found Invalid
A New York federal judge on Wednesday ruled that although Amneal Pharmaceuticals LLC infringed Purdue Pharma LP's patent with its generic version of an abuse-resistant variety of the pain medication OxyContin, Purdue's asserted claims are invalid as obvious and indefinite.

A New York federal judge on Tuesday issued a major claims construction ruling for two of Purdue Pharma LP's OxyContin patents that are designed to prevent abuse of the painkiller, clearing the way for a July bench trial with generic producers over whether the patents are valid.
