    A Illinois federal judge approved a deal Tuesday in which Verizon Communications Inc. will pay $7.7 million to settle a class action in which retail employees alleged the wireless carrier had shirked the Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage laws when it declined to pay workers overtime and bonuses.
