Apple Inc. and AT&T Mobility LLC on Monday exited a suit by Texas-based patent-holding company SmartPhone Technologies LLC accusing them and several cellphone makers of infringing its communications and Bluetooth patents.

Research In Motion Ltd. on Tuesday became the latest defendant to settle a Texas suit that SmartPhone Technologies LLC filed accusing about a dozen major cellphone manufacturers of infringing several communications and Bluetooth patents.
