A North Carolina federal judge on Thursday dismissed a suit against Ford Motor Co. and Honeywell International Inc. brought by a man, now deceased, claiming that his mesothelioma was caused by asbestos in brake pads that the companies made, finding there was no support for the remaining claims in the case.

A man claiming he contracted mesothelioma from asbestos in brake pads made by Honeywell International Inc. and Ford Motor Co. is largely unable to use evidence that dates after his exposure to the carcinogenic material ended in 1962, a North Carolina federal judge ruled Monday.
