CORRECTED: Apple, App Makers Beat Bulk Of Address Book Snooping Case

A California federal judge on Wednesday threw out virtually all of a class action alleging software applications distributed through Apple Inc.’s App Store surreptitiously lifted mobile device users’ contact information, clearing Apple of consumer deception and a slew of app developers of data theft. Correction: An earlier headline implied that the suit had been completely dismissed. The error has been corrected.
