A Texas federal judge on Tuesday rejected Dell Inc.'s bid to transfer a technology firm's patent infringement suit to California, holding the transfer wasn't justified because most of the party witnesses are in Texas, even though some third-party witnesses and documents are in California.

Dell Inc., Panasonic Corp. of North America and other technology companies were sued Friday in Texas federal court by a Japanese company that accuses them of infringing three data transmitting patents with their tablets, monitors, televisions and other devices.
