    Alcatel-Lucent, Acacia Unit Settle On Eve Of Data Patent Trial

    Alcatel-Lucent USA Inc. agreed Thursday to settle a patent infringement suit brought by a unit of Acacia Research Corp. accusing the telecom equipment maker of infringing a data communications patent, avoiding a trial that was set to begin Tuesday, according to California federal court records.
