Shell, Exxon Venture Will Pay $187K To End Clean Air Suit
A New Jersey petroleum additives plant run by a Shell and Exxon Mobil joint venture will pay the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency $187,500 to settle claims that it used a method of burning off waste gas that needlessly sent hazardous pollutants into the atmosphere, according to a consent decree filed Friday.
