An Illinois federal judge on Monday partially freed Microsoft Corp. from a putative class action accusing the tech giant of unlawfully handling facial geometry scans gathered through Brainshark's sales training technology, finding that only one of the plaintiff's four claims under the state's biometric privacy law could proceed as currently pled.
