Microsoft's Xbox chief announced Sunday that the company has reached a deal with rival Sony to keep Activision Blizzard's hit Call of Duty first-person shooter game on Sony's PlayStation following Microsoft's expected $68.7 billion acquisition of the game maker and the Federal Trade Commission's recent trial court loss challenging the tie-up.

A Ninth Circuit panel summarily refused late Friday to temporarily block Microsoft's planned $68.7 billion purchase of Activision Blizzard, rejecting a last-minute request from the Federal Trade Commission hours before a deadline after which the deal can theoretically close.
