Legal Transcription Fees Are Business Debt: Appeals Court

Law360, New York (April 26, 2013, 8:17 PM EDT) -- A New Jersey appellate court on Friday ruled that an attorney cannot bring a claim against a collection agency for violating debt collection laws, saying those laws cover “consumer” debts, a definition that doesn’t apply to the attorney’s business debt for legal transcription services.
