Seventy years later, professor Frank E.A. Sander resumed the conversation instigated by Pound through what was referred to as the Pound Conference. In his keynote speech for the 1976 Pound Conference, Chief Justice Warren Burger commented that the Pound Conference was "the first time the chief justices of the highest state courts, the leaders of the federal courts, leaders of the organized bar, and thoughtful members of other disciplines have joined forces to take a hard look at how our system of justice is working."...
