   TEXT ORDER: The Defendants' request to file a renewed motion for summary judgment is granted. See ECF 198 . The Court has inherent authority to manage its docket and ensure the just and efficient resolution of disputes. See, e.g., Link v. Wabash R. Co., 370 U.S. 626, 630-31 (1962; Dietz v. Bouldin, 579 U.S. 40, 45 (2016). And when the Court denied the Defendants' initial motion for summary judgment, it directed the parties to conference with the United States Magistrate Judge to discuss the possibility of settlement before undertaking additional summary judgment briefing. See ECF 176 at 4. But this conferencing was unsuccessful. See ECF 198 . Accordingly, in the interest of aggregate efficiency, before proceeding further the Court will allow the Defendants to submit a renewed motion for summary judgment, having recognized in its prior order, see ECF 176 at 4, that Defendants "may [have been] able to better develop their legal arguments." Id. This briefing will be short and tightly targeted, however --- akin to the type of supplemental briefing that is often directed by a Court when a deficiency is caught at oral argument, but a complete overhaul is not necessary. The Defendants' renewed motion shall be filed on or before September 1 and shall be limited to 10 pages of briefing. The Plaintiff's opposition shall be due September 14 and shall also be limited to 10 pages. The Defendants' Reply shall be due September 22, and shall be limited to 8 pages.
