Letter from Liza M. Walsh to the Honorable Rukhsanah L. Singh, U.S.M.J. re: adjournment of the August 18, 2026 case management conference. (WALSH, LIZA)
440 Civil Rights: Other | Indiana Southern
Minute Order On August
MINUTE ORDER ON AUGUST 5, 2026, TELEPHONIC STATUS CONFERENCE - Plaintiff appeared in person and Defendants Andrew Thorup, Khalid Brooks, and the City of Lawrence appeared by counsel August 5, 2026, for a telephonic status conference. Discussion held regarding case status and settlement. Plaintiff's motions to reschedule the August 5 status conference [Filing No. 244 ] and vacate Docket No. 238 [Filing No. 245 ]--filed the day of the conference--are denied as untimely and moot. Plaintiff's motion to strike [Filing No. 235 ] is denied as moot in light of Filing No. 230 , which extended the deadline to file dispositive motions to 30 days after the Court ruled on the pending motions to dismiss. The Court ruled on those motions on July 28, 2026, making the dispositive motions deadline August 27, 2026.The Court addressed the timing of Defendants' discovery responses. However, the remaining Defendants have responded to Plaintiff's discovery. To the extent Plaintiff believes the discovery responses by these remaining Defendants are incomplete or inadequate, Plaintiff may file a motion to compel by August 20, 2026. The Court explored settlement with the parties. However, given the parties' settlement positions, a Court-supervised settlement conference would not be productive at this time. The parties shall notify the magistrate judge if there is a material change in their settlement positions that suggests a settlement conference might be productive. Signed by Magistrate Judge Tim A. Baker. Copy sent to Plaintiff via U.S. Mail. (DMB) (Entered: 08/06/2026)
