Order on Motion for Protective Order
ORDER denying without prejudice 47 the Parties' "Joint Motion for Stipulated Protective Order" for noncompliance with the Court's Local Rules of Practice and the Magistrate Judges' Uniform Civil Practice Standards; both of which are available on the Court's website. To begin, D.C.COLO.MJ V.5 mandates that the proposed order "must state... the Court will not retain jurisdiction over a matter once the case is closed" and "should not permit the filing of opposed discovery motions and should instead reflect the discovery dispute process" described in D.C.COLO.MJ VI. Here, the Parties' proposed protective order fails to comply with these requirements. See ECF 47-1 at 6. Additionally, pursuant to D.C.COLO.LCivR 7.2, filings in this Court are restricted, not sealed. Accordingly, the reference to sealing documents in Paragraph 11 must be modified. See ECF 47-1 at 7. The Parties may refile the Motion with a revised proposed protective order attached as an exhibit complying with the Court's Local Rules of Practice and the Magistrate Judges' Uniform Civil Practice Standards as well as jointly email a Word copy of the revised proposed protective order to Chief Magistrate Judge Hegarty's Chambers (hegarty_chambers@cod.uscourts.gov). Entered by Chief Magistrate Judge Michael E. Hegarty on 05/23/2024. Text Only Entry (mehlc7)
