Minute
MINUTE entry before the Honorable Mary M. Rowland: The Court has reviewed Defendants Haworth, Inc. and Haworth International, LTD's Bill of Costs 83 . The Court has also reviewed Plaintiff Jon Couture's response, which has no objection to the itemized costs, but requests that the matter be stayed pending resolution of Plaintiff's appeal. (Dkt. 89). The Court declines to stay resolution of the Bill of Costs, but will stay payment or enforcement of any costs taxed pending resolution of the appeal. See Allen v. City of Chi., 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 34063, at *32 (N.D. Ill. Mar. 16, 2016) ("While this Court has declined to stay the adjudication of defendant's bill of costs, we grant plaintiffs' request to stay the payment of costs pending plaintiffs' appeal, as is common in this district."). However, the Court notes, upon a review of the exhibits attached to the Bill of Costs, it appears Defendants have applied court reporter fees and per page transcript rates that exceed permissible amounts. See Local Rule 54.1(b) and the Northern District of Illinois webpage addressing "Transcript Rates", at https://www.ilnd.uscourts.gov/Pages.aspx?rsp2kxYIAI6Z3skP0PESA+q3bXKkfRyo. Therefore, on or before 5/19/20, Defendants shall file a revised Bill of Costs. Mailed notice. (dm, ) (Entered: 05/04/2020)
