Minute Order
MINUTE ORDER IN CHAMBERS of the Honorable Magistrate Judge Maximiliano D. Couvillier, III on 9/8/2026. Re: 75 Minute Order. The Court previously denied plaintiff's motion for sanctions (ECF No. 18), which the Court construed as motion seeking only a default sanction against defendant (ECF No. 54). Plaintiff filed Motion for Reconsideration (ECF No. 57) stating that it requested lesser sanctions for consideration. The Rules of Civil Procedure require courts to construe and administer the rules to secure the speedy and inexpensive determination of every proceeding. FRCP 1. District courts have inherent authority to control their dockets and to "achieve the orderly and expeditious disposition of cases." Chambers v. NASCO, Inc. , 501 U.S. 32, 43 (1991). Pursuant to the foregoing, the Court advises the parties that it construes plaintiff's Motion for Reconsideration (ECF No. 57) as a renewed motion for lesser sanctions and that the parties may file supplemental briefs in response.
IT IS ORDERED that plaintiff may file his supplemental brief by September 18, 2026.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that defendant may file its supplemental opposition brief by September 28, 2026.
