Order on Motion for Extension of Time
PAPERLESS ORDER granting 13 Unopposed Motion for Extension of Time. Plaintiff seeks a 30-day extension of time for Defendants to respond to the Complaint. Defendant Northwood Office's current deadline to respond is June 15, 2026. Defendant Northwood Investors' deadline to respond is June 19, 2026. In support, Plaintiff first represents that Defendants ran into obstacles in securing counsel because a potential conflict that needed to be cleared prior to engagement. Plaintiff also represents that they have been in communication with an insurance adjuster for one or both Defendants to explore prospective early settlement. Motions for extension of time must set forth good cause supported by specific facts. Because the Motion is unopposed and the relief sought would both align the timelines of both Defendants while promoting a swift resolution through settlement, I find that such good cause exists here. Accordingly, the Defendants shall respond to the Complaint by no later than July 15, 2026. Given the length of this extension I will be strongly disinclined to delay this filing deadline any further.
