ORDER GRANTING PARTIAL DEFAULT JUDGMENTS granting 895 Motion for Judgment. it is hereby ORDERED that this Court possesses personal jurisdiction over Defendant the Taliban by virtue of its conduct supporting the terrorist activities of Al-Qaeda, i ncluding but not limited to the Terrorist Attacks on September 11, 2001, which involved terrorist attacks conducted on American soil in New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia; as further set forth in this Order. ORDERED that the Plaintiffs set forth on Exhibit A to this Order be awarded damages for conscious pain and suffering in the amount of $2,000,000 for each estate, as set forth in Exhibit A, against the Taliban; and it is ORDERED that the Plaintiffs set forth on Exhibit A to this Order be awarded damages for conscious pain and suffering in the amount of $2,000,000 for each estate, as set forth in Exhibit A, against the Taliban; and it is as further set forth ORDERED that the Plaintiffs set forth on Exhibit C to this Order be a warded solatium damages in the amounts previously awarded by this Court in similar actions arising out of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001: specifically that solatium damages of $12,500,000 per spouse, $8,500,000 per parent, 6;8,500,000 per child, and $4,250,000 per sibling, be awarded to the Plaintiffs according to the values set forth in Exhibit C; as further set forth in this Order. ORDERED that the Plaintiffs identified m the attached Exhibit B are awarded preju dgment interest of 4.96 percent per annum, compounded annually, for the period running from the date as indicated in the "Date of Report" column in Exhibit B until the date of judgment; and it is further as further set forth in this Order. The Clerk of Court is respectfully directed to close the motions at: In 03-md-1570, ECF Nos. 11211, 11286, 11291, 11430; In 04-cv-1076, ECF No. 895; In 03-cv-9459, ECF Nos. 1277 and 1281; and In 02-cv-6955, ECF No. 2351.
