Order on Motion to Remand to State Court
ORDER: The court is in receipt of Plaintiff Shireen Green's 15 Letter Motion to Remand the case to state court. The parties are DIRECTED to notify the court by August 20, 2026, if they jointly stipulate to remand the case to state court, amending the [1-2] Amended Complaint to drop all federal claims. Otherwise, the court will hear briefing on Green's request for leave to file an amended Complaint, and the parties will jointly propose a briefing schedule to the court on the same date, August 20, 2026. As the Court recently held, a court cannot hear supplemental state claims when an amended complaint has struck the federal question claims. See Royal Canin U.S.A., Inc. v. Wullschleger, 604 U.S. 22, 34 (2025) ("Once the plaintiff has ditched all claims involving federal questions, the leftover state claims are supplemental to nothing."). So Ordered by Judge Nicholas G. Garaufis on 8/13/2026. (EB)
