Minute Entry for proceedings held before Magistrate Judge Peggy Cross-Goldenberg: Status Conference held on 9/17/2026. Appearances: Charles Carnicas appeared on behalf of plaintiff; and Robert Delmond appeared on behalf of defendants SCO Family of Services and Ottie Residential Treatment Facility and Avish Dhaniram appeared on behalf of defendants Royal York Equities and JFK Inn Corp. Discussion held. The parties provided the Court with an update as to the current status of the case. The parties expressed interest in having the Court conduct a settlement conference. A settlement conference will be held on October 21, 2026, at 10:30am in Courtroom 322 North, before Magistrate Judge Peggy Cross- Goldenberg. Each party, or someone with settlement authority for each party (other than counsel), must be present at the conference unless prior permission has been granted to participate by telephone. The parties are directed to submit confidential ex parte settlement statements to Cross-Goldenberg_Chambers@nyed.uscourts.gov by October 14, 2026. The statements must include the last offer and demand, a frank assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of each party's case and should indicate the outstanding issues regarding settlement. For guidance on the requirements for the statements, the parties should consult Magistrate Judge Peggy Cross-Goldenberg's Individual Practice Rules. The Court will schedule ex parte telephone calls with counsel after review of the statements. (JHD)
