Order on Motion to Withdraw as Attorney
ENDORSED ORDER denying without prejudice the 50 Unopposed Motion to Withdraw as Counsel for Defendant ("Motion"). The Motion requests "a reasonable period of time to secure alternative counsel" but gives no indication as to what may be reasonable under the circumstances and/or when Defendant anticipates securing new counsel. And, because Defendant is not a natural person, it may appear in this Court only through counsel. See Local Rule 2.02(b)(2). As such, the Motion will be denied at this time without prejudice. See Baez v. LTD Fin. Servs., L.P., No. 6:15-cv-1043-Orl-40TBS, 2019 WL 13245736, at *1 (M.D. Fla. Mar. 27, 2019) ("This Court regularly denies motions to withdraw from representing business defendants in the absence of substitute counsel."); see also Vanhorn v. Behav. Support Servs., Inc., No. 6:07-cv-1696-ORL-22DAB, 2008 WL 552646, at *1-2 (M.D. Fla. Feb. 27, 2008). Any renewed motion that would leave Defendant without counsel of record should adequately consider and, as appropriate, address the foregoing. The Court is unlikely to allow any motion for withdrawal that would leave Defendant unrepresented without at minimum first conducting a hearing. See Storey v. Cap.
