Order
ELECTRONIC ORDER: On July 14, 2025, the Court granted the parties' Joint Motion to Compel Arbitration and stayed the case pending its outcome. See Doc. 16, Order, 1-2. The Court ordered the parties to file a joint status report updating the Court regarding the status of their arbitration every 180 days. The parties failed to do so. See id., at 2. On August 18, 2026, the Court ordered the parties to file their joint status report or show cause in writing for why they have failed to do so by September 8, 2026. The parties have failed to do so. Courts have an inherent power to dismiss cases for lack of prosecution. United States v. Amieva-Rodriguez, 905 F.3d 288, 289 (5th Cir. 2018). This allows courts to manage their affairs and achieve expeditious disposition of cases. Id. Thus, a court may dismiss an action if a plaintiff fails to prosecute or if the parties do not comply with the Courts order without a motion. Id. Because the parties have not responded to the Court's orders, the Court finds it appropriate to dismiss the case for failure to prosecute. The case is thus DISMISSED WITH PREJUDICE. The clerk is directed to close the case. (Ordered by Senior Judge Jane J Boyle on 9/9/2026) (chmb)
