(In Chambers) Order by Judge Stanley Blumenfeld, Jr.: The parties filed a stipulation on the day of Defendant's responsive pleading deadline, seeking to extend the deadline and the mandatory scheduling conference (MSC) by a month because they are meeting and conferring to resolve pleading issues. Dkt. Nos. 21-22. Although the parties are encouraged to cooperate in narrowing any pleading disputes, they are cautioned that last-minute stipulations do not relieve them of their obligations to comply with deadlines. See Dkt. No. 7 §§ 910 (cautioning against last-minute stipulations and setting forth good cause requirement for continuances). The Court approves a shorter continuance of the responsive pleading deadline to July 10. The request to continue the July 17 mandatory scheduling conference is denied. Once the Court has reviewed the parties' Rule 26(f) report, the Court may vacate the MSC and set the matter for early mediation, as requested. The parties are free to meet and confer about consenting to a magistrate judge for all purposes. If the parties consent to a magistrate judge, they may choose any magistrate judge on the Voluntary Consent List found on the Central District website. The parties shall contact the courtroom deputy of the selected magistrate judge to confirm his or her availability and, upon confirmation, file a "Notice of Lodging of Consent" along with Form CV11D (Statement of Consent to Proceed Before a United States Magistrate Judge) attached thereto no later than July 10. Absent a consent form or request for an extension by July 10, the Court is unlikely to transfer the case. THERE IS NO PDF DOCUMENT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS ENTRY. (lfa) TEXT ONLY ENTRY
