Plaintiff shall serve a settlement demand on Defendant no later than July 27, 2026.Settlement Conference Statements shall be lodged by August 7, 2026 to PHKSettlement@cand.uscourts.gov. Defendant's non-confidential Settlement Conference Statement shall include a counteroffer responding to Plaintiff's settlement demand.Defendant shall inquire whether the California Department of Parks and Recreation will have a representative with knowledge of this case attend the Settlement Conference. Defendant shall report the status of that inquiry and the Department's response regarding attendance in its non-confidential Settlement Conference Statement. No later than August 24, 2026, each party shall email the names, titles, and contact information of all Settlement Conference attendees to PHKsettlement@cand.uscourts.gov. Plaintiff Chowning shall appear at the Settlement Conference in person. Co-Plaintiff Fitzgerald may appear remotely, provided Plaintiff Chowning appears in person. Defendant's in-house counsel, Mr. Sherman, shall appear at the Settlement Conference in person. Any additional in-house representatives for Defendant may appear remotely, provided Mr. Sherman appears in person.
