Order ~Util - Set Deadlines
ORDER. I have reviewed the parties' joint status report (ECF No. 37). The parties are free to engage in mediation, but the jurisdictional issue cannot be put on ice. I will permit a sixty-day limited discovery period for the Defendants to explore Marc Hordon's state of citizenship at the time of the filing of the complaint. The Defendants may collectively serve twelve interrogatories on Hordon and, if necessary, take his deposition remotely for a maximum of three hours. This does not seem like it is should be a particularly complicated issue to resolve, so the parties must be sensible, practical, and cooperative. The parties shall file another status report by June 20, 2024. In lieu of a status report, the parties may stipulate to remand. (Set Deadline: Status Report due by 6/20/2024.) By MAGISTRATE JUDGE KAREN FRINK WOLF. (MGW)

Order on Motion for Miscellaneous Relief 1
ORDER denying without prejudice 31 Motion for Evidentiary Hearing. An evidentiary hearing would be premature at this point. The parties are ORDERED to meet and confer to see if they can reach agreement that remand is appropriate for lack of complete diversity. The parties shall file a joint status report by April 18, 2024, detailing whether they have reached such an agreement or whether limited discovery is necessary to further explore the issue. If the latter, the parties should propose the parameters of the limited discovery. By MAGISTRATE JUDGE KAREN FRINK WOLF. (MGW)
