UK Car Dealer Hits MasterCard With Latest Swipe-Fee Suit

Law360, London (August 10, 2017, 4:43 PM BST) -- A U.K.-based motor group has filed a suit against MasterCard Inc. and its international and European arms in London's High Court for damages it claims to have incurred due to the credit card companies’ anti-competitive setting of swipe fees.

Listers Group, which owns new and used car dealerships across the Midlands, said it is owed damages and restitutionary relief over what it called “anti-competitive agreements, decisions and concerted practices” carried out by MasterCard to collect inflated multilateral interchange fees.
