By Al Barbarino (April 20, 2021, 6:59 PM EDT) -- While the COVID-19 pandemic forced compliance departments to work remotely much like other business units, a majority continued their audit work unabated, according to a report released Tuesday.
Despite the remote work, a majority of firms surveyed by compliance consultancy A-LIGN said their audits have been largely unimpacted and their compliance budgets spared.
"The pandemic changed the world in 2020," the report noted. "[But] regulations and rules didn't go away ... and compliance programs stayed strong despite global circumstances."
