Texas Regulator Puts Crypto Among Top Threats To Investors

By Dean Seal (January 13, 2020, 4:52 PM EST) -- The Texas State Securities Board identified cryptocurrency offerings as a major source of risk in a list published Monday of the biggest threats investors will face in 2020.

The state regulator has been among the most active in policing the cryptocurrency investment space in recent years and has often warned in announcements for its enforcement actions that "bad actors" are trying to cash in on the frenzy around Bitcoin that erupted in late 2017, when its price reached an all-time high of nearly $20,000.
