By Eric Kroh (January 25, 2017, 4:39 PM EST) -- President Donald Trump has designated Maureen K. Ohlhausen to be acting chair of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, according to a Wednesday statement by the agency.
Ohlhausen, who has been serving as an FTC commissioner since she was sworn in in 2012, will replace Edith Ramirez, who announced her resignation as FTC chair earlier this month. As the only remaining Republican commissioner, Ohlhausen's appointment to the interim position was expected. Democrat Terrell McSweeny is the other remaining commissioner.
