Law360, New York (June 9, 2017, 2:12 PM EDT) -- A consumer hit BizTexter with a proposed class action in Florida federal court Thursday alleging that the text message marketing company violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by scraping his number from real estate website Zillow and sending him unsolicited messages using a chat robot program.
Stephen McWilliams’ complaint alleges that Washington state-based Business Texter Inc., which goes by BizTexter, has been engaging in bulk marketing, sending text advertisements en masse to cellphone owners who they hoped might be potential customers.
