Law360, New York (February 3, 2015, 10:19 AM EST) -- Anti-corruption compliance has evolved tremendously since the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act's passage in 1977, and in the past 10 to 15 years, government regulators' expectations have increased extensively. While a strongly worded statement that "bribery will not be tolerated" in a company's general handbook may have been a sufficient "compliance program" in the 1990s, compliance programs today are substantially more complete and complex.
