Scholarship Recipient's Wage Suit Against NCAA Time-Barred

Law360 (May 18, 2018, 2:12 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania federal judge on Thursday dismissed as time-barred a proposed class action alleging the National Collegiate Athletic Association and 20 Division I schools owe college athletes who received athletic scholarships unpaid minimum wages.

Baylson said allegations by Lawrence “Poppy” Livers, who played football on a Villanova University scholarship through 2015, are subject to a two-year statute of limitations because he hasn’t adequately argued the defendants’ alleged wage violations were willful.
