Merrill Swaps Reed For Morgan In Deferred Pay Disputes

Law360, New York (June 22, 2012, 9:44 PM EDT) -- Merrill Lynch has replaced Reed Smith LLP with Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP as counsel In its battles with brokers who allege the company failed to make good on contractual deferred compensation obligations after they resigned.

Merrill Lynch spokesman Bill Halldin said Friday that Morgan Lewis had been hired to represent the brokerage, now owned by Bank of America Corp., in various Financial Industry Regulatory Authority arbitration proceedings over the deferred compensation disputes.

One of the disputes has already led to a $10.3 million FINRA arbitration...
